Proxy websites are websites which act as an interface between a user and a remote server. In other words, proxy websites are web based proxies. With these web based proxies, users are able to unblock sites which are blocked by their internet service providers. For example, one can unblock myspace which is blocked at schools and colleges. By using a proxy, one can easily unblock such sites. Also, proxy websites help users to surf anonymously on the internet. Surfing anonymously has many benefits to the user. One is that the network administrator can’t log the details of the sites that the user visits. That is, the user’s privacy is protected.
Another is that, surfing anonymously hides the ip address of the user and therefore protects his/her private information from hackers and therefore protects against hackers. Protecting against hackers, protecting the user’s privacy and unblocking sites are the most important uses of proxy websites. However, there are many other uses and they also depend on the nature of the user’s browsing habits etc.
At a time a simple proxy can unblock a site in schools and colleges. Nowadays, it is more complex. Even proxies are blocked and therefore, new proxy is needed to unblock a site. As older proxies get blocked with time, new proxies are in constant need. Therefore, I’m providing a list of new proxies here. Also, unblocking orkut is difficult if the proxy doesn’t work with https protocol. Therefore, specific proxies are needed which are also listed at orkut proxy. And for myspace users, here are the myspace proxies. New myspace proxies are also needed for unblocking myspace at places where older proxies have been blocked.
